I loved dying eggs as a little girl, and though I’m fully aware that Bridget is not old enough to really understand the process, I couldn’t resist picking up a PAAS dye kit when I saw they were only $2! Least of all we’d have real eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide for Bridget’s Easter morning hunt.
All our materials were set and my little chicken was excited to start! Let me preface the rest of the pics with a little disclaimer: we are officially within the tantrum realm. Easter weekend made it 100% official. I’ll leave it at that :).
She was very curious about all the colors and of course, she LOVED the cups. Almost too much…
Now its time for the eggs!
We discovered pretty quickly that B’s favorite part of the process was the egg holder…without the egg :)
She loved stirring the dye so much that those pesky eggs were just messing up all the fun…
Tantrum time (and check out those fingers! God love you, Paas, for making that dye easily washable. Phew!) :)…
Finally, Mommy decided to hook her up with her own cup, her own spoon to stir, and some plain water to complete the job. She was pleased as punch!
Mommy and Daddy finished coloring the eggs:
“Um, what’s this stuff on my hands??”
The whole family joined in the fun of putting stickers on the eggs (and on Bridget, and on Daddy, and on Mommy):
Ready for Mr. EB!!
And she’s happy once again!
It’s no surprise to me at all that tantrums begin at this stage in life. If us parents didn’t have to deal with fussy behavior, we’d all be in complete paradise because its such an amazingly fun age…except for the tantrums :). This too shall pass….right?
Fun times! We've had a few of those days, too. Glad you're documenting them because those red-faced crying pictures are hilarious...after the moment, of course.
ReplyDeleteLove this post! I'm anxiously awaiting the days I can do things like this with Jack. And, I love watching B so I know what to expect next with Jack. Maybe we'll breeze by the tantrums, right?? I girl can dream. Great memories, Anna!!
