We were so excited to play with our friend Dylan for his first birthday party at Gymboree recently! Everyone had a blast, and Bridget really put on a show for the rest of the party-goers…
It was love at first sight when she saw some balloons. There were many more to come.
The birthday boy!
Here’s a shot of Bridget meeting tiny infant Dylan for the first time. I’m sure D’s parents, Keith and Jeanette, will agree that its amazing how fast these babies grow!
We were so excited that Daddy was able to come with us. Jonathan is a good friend of Dylan’s daddy, Keith, as they’re both trombone players from UNT and now are middle school band directors. We love K and J!
My little doodle was off and going as soon as we entered the play area!
“Ball!”
She quickly spied the trampoline, a Bridget fav:
And the bubbles were a huge hit! I’ve heard that Gymboree’s bubble recipe is the best, and its officially true. They don’t pop forever!
Oops, I’ve been spied!
“Whee!!!”
Time for the parachute! Now, a new Bridget fav:
Bridget was a little older than most of the other babies, so occasionally she’d loose interest and wander back to the climbing equiptment. However, when she realized she was missing out on going under the parachute, she snuck back in right next to Keith and Dylan :).
She loved it!
Notice, she’s on her way off again :)…
Soon enough, it was time for cake!
Mastering the art of juice boxing…sort of…(no comment about the squeezing incident that occured soon after this shot):
“Mommy, I found some more balloons!”
Thanks, again for the invite, Dylan! We had a great time!
After the party, we had a little bit of time with Daddy before he had to leave for a wedding gig (that he later found out was with Norah Jones! Score!), so we stopped by a neighborhood park that a friend raved about:
They had some great “Bridget-sized” areas…
And she loved her Daddy time:
We stayed on the swings mostly the whole time!
She’s in a new stage now where she doesn’t want help for ANYTHING. She’s gotten really good at pushing our hands away and saying, “no, Mommy!”. It was particularly funny on this swingset when she decided she didn’t want a push from Daddy. After a while, she just stopped swinging and got frustrated. It’s times like those that make it really hard to stifle our giggles!!! Love her…
This makes me SMILE....we are having Max's first birthday party at Gymboree in a week and a half. It is going to be a BLAST!
