My mother-in-law LOVES high tea. I mean LOVES high tea. She and I had chatted about tea during early Fall and I mentioned how much fun Amanda and I had at the Arboretum Christmas Tea years ago. As soon as we all knew the Germans would be in town for the holidays, my MIL called and reserved space for the Adamo ladies to enjoy a fancy afternoon together. We couldn’t have been gifted a lovelier day!
Upon entering the grounds, we were welcomed by a REAL reindeer. Love!
We strolled on over the to the DeGolyer House where the tea is held and had time to take the house tour. It’s so beautiful (and very popular that day)!
Not to mention the HUNDREDS of amazing nativity scenes showcased during the Christmas season. Here are a few of my favorites:
Here’s me and Amanda (circa 2009) in our favorite room in the house – the Master Bedroom.
Ella, my eldest niece, was the only young person invited. She couldn’t escape my photo assault! She and I ooo-ed and ahhh-ed over the master bedroom, too. It’s just such a fabulous place. Ahhh…look at those vintage clothes and hat boxes!
Adamo ladies!
Tea time!
Sure, the plates are full of dainty finger foods, but our tummies got plenty full on all the delicious courses!
As usual, we laughed too loud and made plenty of comments regarding our lack of knowledge of fancy dinnerware etiquette. Didn’t slow us down one bit. Such a great memory for all of us!
And I was so pleased to finally get a chance to see the famed Chihuly Glass exhibit. Here’s one of the many majestic sculptures:
Oh how fun!!! A moment away with beautiful ladies doing something fancy sounds fabulous!! Looks like yall had a great time :)
