Ittsy-Bitsy or Eency-Weency??

So, what do you guys call this song? I always called it "The Ittsy Bittsy Spider" but it seems that every CD I find has "Eency Weency Spider". Eh...either way the girls love it. Abby knows all the moves and completed them all splendidly for me, but as soon as I got out the camera she got a little performance anxiety. Doesn't that always happen??

Stopping Down for Storytime

B and I have really enjoyed our opportunities to attend the nearby library for Storytime. We don’t always make it because its nestled right between breakfast and our Kindermusik time and sometimes other things come up, but I was bound and determined to go this week!

    

She did such a great job sitting at this sweet table with these big boys and played with puzzles…looks like its time for me to buy some puzzles!

When we finished, we strolled down to the boardwalk on the pond and had B’s snack and watched the ducks and the swans. I can’t wait to bring her back next week! She loved it!

The swans were just so majestic. I really enjoyed getting to describe the different breeds of feathered swimmer. I am my mother’s daughter, what can I say?!

   

At this point, the swan was swimming right toward her, then he went right under the boardwalk. I couldn’t for the life of me get B to walk to the other side to see him emerge! So silly :)

Next week we’re certainly bringing some bread crumbs (and a blanket due to duck droppings!) so we can feed the ducks like this Grandpa and Grandson did…

One of the best parts of Storytime was that we met a friend! B and I did our regular walk with Penny down to the park this morning where we saw a young mommy and her 20 month old girl. As we started talking, she asked if B and I had been at Storytime this week….she remembered us! I hope to see Sarah (mom) and Cameron (sweet precious girl) next Tuesday!

State Fair: Year in Review

Another wonderful year for the Adamos at the Texas State Fair has gone by. Oh, how I love trips to my favorite childhood hooky-from-school destination (my mom used to make me and my sisters out of school for one full day each fall just to go to the Fair), especially now that I have my little turkey to share it with.

Although I only made it once last year (that’s what an itty-bitty will do to your schedule), I usually try to make it 3 times each season. This year I succeed and made it 3 times. Once with Jonathan (our friend, Donald, joined us), once with my mom, and once with Amanda (our friend Ashlee and her 9 month old, Catherine, met us there)…each and every trip with Baby B!

Our annual trip to Hans Mueller! It was bittersweet because Jonathan wasn’t there to toast to German beer :)

That woman in the purple had just cut in front of me (I didn’t even know I was in a line!) as I took this picture, and then when I met my mom at the free quesadilla line (the only one we wanted and knew existed)  and I had started telling her about this crazy lady….up rolls purple shirt and CUTS IN FRONT OF US! I was cracking up…good times, 65+ers!)

My mom had just attended a Junior League leadership retreat where she met a woman who’s daughter had received a blue ribbon at the fair for woodworking. We found that girls’ structure and my mom sent her mom a phone pic of it! Yay!

Another year of the fair and I am still never disappointed (except when the Budweiser Clydesdales stopped coming…they were a favorite of mine and Amanda’s). I can’t wait for next year!!!

A trip to see Trip!

Finally, I got to visit precious little man, Trip, at his place this afternoon. His mama, Erin, has been a close friend for over 20 years and though I don’t get to see her often, its always so easy to get together and chat about anything. Today was no different! She’s doing splendidly as a new mommy and its easy to see why…Trip (as in Richard James Stacy III) is an angel!

  B loved Trip’s activity mat! It has sides that can be raised up for easy corralling. Love it! :)

He is a very healthy big boy, but he still felt so small in my arms! Ah!

And, of course, she found the puppies :)

Bridgey doesn’t really care much about babies, but she was interested in Trip once he got down to her level. And she was into that cool swing:

Right as I was packing up, Erin’s sister, Randi came in. I love my Randi!!! So glad Bridget and I got to give her a squeeze and chat for a while. Don’t they look pretty together?

Since Randi came, so did her precious puppy, Madison. Bridget loved her, too, of course. Madi looks like she’s cowering beneath the giant B! Argh!!!

Erin and Randi are also “Williams girls” like me, and we grew up as a mighty two-family Williams clan. We are all planning our Williams full reunion for our favorite restaurant, Via Real, soon….bring on the spinach queso!
