Giveaway for a Cure!

Well, well, well…I finally am posting my glorious fundraising giveaway. The Dallas-Fort Worth Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is only 5 weeks away and I couldn’t be more excited! Let’s see if we can raise awareness for this cause by spreading the word about this giveaway. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so its the perfect time!

Below are the two gifts designed by Jillybean Dreams. Aren’t they adorable?! Please know that my camera is not nearly as fancy as some others, so the pics do not do full justice to either piece, but its the best I can do.

Pillowcase dress (designed for 18 month, but Bridget started wearing her dress months earlier than its size and still wears it today. They’re so versatile!):

Here’s Bridgey wearing her’s when she was 5 months old (cold weather). She just wore it a few weeks ago as a summer dress…7 months later!

Diaper changing cloth (has bright green on the back with pink thread detailing…I want to keep it for myself!):

Loving kisses

My noodle doodle loves giving kisses…I’ve worked for this day for months, people! She’ll give any animal toy (stuffed or not) a kiss on demand, but she’s choosier with Mommy and Daddy. Miss Kathy (her new sitter) taught her how to blow kisses last week and yesterday she did it about 20 times in the car. So sweet!

She has recently discovered this cruise pic of me and Jonathan that resides in our bedroom. Everytime we come into the bedroom now, she runs over to it, points to him and says, “Dada!”. It’s so sweet!!! She loves her Daddy!!! Two days ago, when she did her normal routine with the pic, I said to her, “can you give Dada a kiss?”. She planted a big one right on his face. It warmed my heart and made me smile. I’m so glad I ran and got the camera to capture the memory.

Here she is earlier in the week showing off Daddy’s picture:

Clapping for her good work!

Mommy keeps trying to get her to point to the other person in the picture. I’m still waiting…

IMG_8517

Ah, those girls really love their Daddies!

Pretty, Pretty Princess Preslie!

Bridget and I were so glad to finally meet the beautiful Preslie Lauren yesterday when we drove out to my long-time friend, Meagan’s house. It was a lovely day outside and my drive through my old stomping grounds was delightful. Meagan is doing wonderfully, seeing as how she had some serious complications post-delivery. I told her I never would have known at all after her cherry mood and willingness to chat for an hour (that’s an eternity for a Mommy with a newborn!). Plus, her house was spotless. Who has a spotless house when a newborn is in the picture? So impressed!

Also, Miss P was awake practically the whole time we were there and she was a sweet, quiet angel while Meagan and I chatted about all things baby. Of course, Bridget made her needs known a little more vocally, but at least Rocky (their precious puppy) gave her a run for her money for a while!

She loved playing with all of Rocky’s toys:

Noticing Preslie for the first time…she was mildly interested but, as usual, tried to bring her everything as her way of “sharing” :)

Making herself at home:

She got noticibly more interested as soon as Mommy picked up Preslie:

IMG_8523

She looks so tiny in my huge arms! What a beautiful girl!

IMG_8525

And Meagan got a chance to see what it will feel like holding Preslie a year from now. It’s amazing how much they grow in such a short time:

Since we were nearby, we stopped at Southlake Town Square to drop off something for my HS reunion (that’s right…it’s been 10 years!). B loved the acoustics in City Hall! I’m not so sure the staff enjoyed that as much…but didn’t she look cute??

Frau Bridget

Last week, we opened our Fall season with one of the Adamo Family’s favorite events of the year: Addison Oktoberfest! When this night rolls around, we know that the weeks ahead bring the State Fair, our own annual Oktoberfest, the McKinney Oktoberfest (remember, we have German nieces…and Jonathan likes German beer), and football season! I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE Fall!!!

This year’s family pic:

Crashing Daddy’s workplace

One of my favorite things about being home with B every other day is the opportunity to go visit Jonathan at work. Sure, he’s a middle school band director, so you assume he has better hours than the high school slave-drivers. You would be correct! But keep in mind, those high school guys leave the house before 6am and don’t get home til 9pm, and that’s a early night. Don’t forget about Football Fridays (midnight end) and Marching Band Saturdays (all day) during the fall. Blah! Well, middle school dudes still work WAY more than your average teacher…bless his heart. I am always working harder at being understanding of his schedule. Is it all that selfish for me to want him to be home to play with me?? :)

We got to visit Daddy twice last week, so I had to document. I’ve also tossed in a few pics of previous visits. Hasn’t my girl gotten big??

We both loved Jonathan’s head director at his last middle school, Kelly. She is such a delight! Here she is meeting B for the first time (October ‘09):

IMG_4723

B and I took in Jonathan’s Christmas performance with the Carrollton Wind Symphony. It was her first concert and she did so well! (December ‘09):

IMG_5234

I zipped home after school at the end of the year so B and I could see Daddy’s Pioneers of Jazz performance. We were so proud of him! (May 2010):

Seeing Daddy at his new campus on B’s birthday last week:

IMG_8291

Last week, B and I crashed a Happy Hour at Mattito’s for one of J’s teammates. There was a balloon guy there that night and she was instantly frozen with interest as he made the birthday girl (well, the birthday girl that work’s with Jonathan) a hat:

 IMG_8303

The balloon man spotted B and proceeded to create something for my birthday girl. She wasn’t so sure at first:

IMG_8308

Hmm…is this going to end well?

IMG_8310

He worked for a good 5 minutes making this impressive bunny. As soon as the balloon thingy got a face, she was ready to make friends:

IMG_8315IMG_8314

Yay for the birthday girl!

IMG_8319

As soon as biting was discovered, Mommy had to put Bunny to the side :)

IMG_8326

On Friday, Jonathan’s band had a family get-together at a Frisco park and he invited us to come meet the kiddos and parents. Isn’t my Bridgie adorable in her leopard kicks?? She LOVED the park!

 IMG_8340

Warms my little heart:

IMG_8343

It was no surprise to us to see her making friends with other kids. Even though she’s younger than all the rest, she’s never afraid to run right up to youngsters and expect a friendly greeting!

IMG_8345

And another friend (hmm, all boys recently…should I be worried? hehehe)

IMG_8347

Those toddler boys weren’t interesting enough. Time to meet the middle schoolers!

IMG_8350

Have I mentioned her “adventure baby” status??

IMG_8352

Kisses for Daddy!

IMG_8356

She didn’t want to leave the swings, and even when we thought she’d hit her limit (it was already 30 minutes past her bedtime) and started to leave, she demanded to be put back in for a few more pushes from Daddy. Wheee!!!

IMG_8363

I love that happy face! It’s time to plan our next visit with Daddy…
